is the roof over and the deck together, and did they use screws or nails, just wondering if it would be hard to take down.

Roofing metal is screwed on, and decking is screwed down, but framing is all hand nailed....3 of the roof center posts go through the deck...not sure if that answers your questions....

Pete Edwards said he would bring the dozer over to help me get my camper out from under it. Then I may just cut it in manageable sections and load it on my 15 ton equipment trailer to move it...My brother in law has a LUL we can use....

Plus I have had about 20 poeple offer to help me move it....so we will see how it works out....Lots of options presenting themselves right now...

But then I'd have to try and get a weekend release from prison to use the camp.....seems slightly counter productive....just a little....

Ah. To sit back and remember the day pre-surveyed deeds. None of this crap went on. Yes, the actual landowner has total right to the land, but jimeny cricket....where did the whole gentleman's (and lady) agreement go? This whole "THIS IS MINE" attitude for the camp and the total disregard that the land you ride on out of your surveyed lot, what about that? Yup, someone else owns it, but YOU are disregarding THEIR rights. No arguments needed because I do recognize that the facts are the facts, just venting.

Yadda Yadda Yadda....(love the name calling already....)

I don't much want to go back and forth.....it gets old...I still think $8000 is a lot for land valued at $700...but that is a mute point since I don't have $1000, let alone $8000 laying around.....I won't be moving again unless the RRPOA is completely dissolved, which if that happens...it won't matter then anyway.....

We are now trying to work out a deal that they just buy out my "stuff" and I just move personal effects, and decorations etc.....please wish me luck....

I do want to thank EVERYONE who sent offers of help and support.....right now I just hope I get my "buy out" and I can move on as smoothly as possible.....

where or when will it end, does this mean the ones that own in the hunt area will be able to also sell for big bucks? like Betsy said what happen to the gentleman/ladies agreement? maybe the greedy are just damn needy? Just got my tax statement and the land is worth a whole $625.00, guess uncle Sam will be happy to see the profit made on this useless land? and when and if it all goes down we will all get the same amount from the government regardless of what a person pays for it. Who started this crap anyway? shame on them for stirring up this mess. PHN, sorry for your pain.

Maybe the camping area needs to be moved all the way to the canal then no one would be able to overcharge for useless property and it would all be worth the same.

I feel for you PHN. Didn't mean to ruffle anyones feathers, especially since I am relatively new but I purchased just so I wouldn't have to move after getting set up & I also bought another that I have just recently traded. So I kind of took offense to the remarks about shooting a new buyer or scumbag seller. I certainly didn't move anyone and have even invited a few friends with property in the hunting area to set up on what I have.
(I will also be purchasing a hunting deed in the future in order to help preserve the hunting and riding areas.) It may be a small gesture but I feel it is the least I can do & would recommend other surveyed and deeded owners do the same.
I guess my point is .....not all buyers and sellers are scumbags and neither are the squatters.

As Betsy said WISHING for the good ole days and the gentlemans agreement
if you made someone move off your property then you couldn't use anyone elses property except to go in to and from yours. Sorry to hear about your mess PHN

Ok...Thanks to all who offered their supporting words and thoughts...I really wasn't trying to open any moral discussion here, only recover some $$ out of the stuff I had built....Now if all goes as planned we have an agreement for the new land owner to buy my "campsite" for a pretty fair price, and I will only have to move my persoanal stuff and decorations....

The land seller didn't kick me off .(while I don't like the business, he is just trying to make a living and has found an "opportunity", and I didn't have the $8000 the NEW buyer did have)....the NEW land owner is the one who has more of a "all business" mentality. My old campmate did step in and suggest he make a reasonable offer to just buy me out, and that is in the works....

I do not want to see this land owership issue become the downfall of River Ranch, but ultimately it probably will be a big contributor. I will not be moving to "my land" in the East hunting area. I will be moving back to a RRPOA owned lot, and try my best to just "keep on....".....Change is coming...there is no point hating......I just hope everyone trys to take the high road and do the right thing by one another....

To quote my daughter who I had no idea was so wise...."Peace out"!

so when someone owns a lot in the hunting area or the deadens area, what happens if they get an official survey and set up camp there?

Fletch: Then River Ranch becomes like Suburban Estates. But in the same vein where deeded landowners in the campground have the legal right to move people off their land so do the landowners in the hunt area have the same legal right to move their camp there.

Paul: If you need an extra hand moving let me know. Sorry you have to move. What a frikkin pain.
